Arian Nazari is an investor and the founder of Smog King. He has opened 17+ smog check stations in California and has taught 1,500+ people, most of them with no automotive background, how to open stations of their own. Early life
Arian didn't grow up around cars. He had no automotive background and no business experience, just a retail job and one question: which businesses actually last?
The answer he landed on wasn't glamorous. In California, most cars need a smog check every two years once they're more than eight model years old, most need one when they're sold, and every car registered in the state for the first time needs one. Nobody chooses to need it. The law decides. He opened his first station at 19, and he's also a college graduate.

Smog King is the education and consulting company Arian founded to teach first-time owners how to open a smog check station: the numbers, the 5-point location check, the lease, licensing, equipment and hiring licensed technicians.
The stations
Licensed technicians run the tests. The owner runs the business. Arian checks every location himself before a lease is signed, and signs long, 15 to 20 years out.
